It is said that BYU Ga Gook Studio, who is the developer behind the Yakuza and Judgment franchises, is working on a completely new franchise. In recent months, the study has launched its latest project, audio lost, while confirming that a sequel last year yakuza: as a dragon is also in process. And although it seemed likely that this follow-up was the only important project in which the study could be focusing at this time, that does not seem to be the case.
In a new conversation with Fujitsu, Masayoshi Yokohama of EGG Studio stated that the company is currently working on new projects that are not associated with Yakuza or Judgment. While Yokohama did not continue saying much more about these new games in question, he seems to confirm that EGG Studio does not want to fall into the pattern of launch only Yakuza and Judgment titles one after the other in the coming years.

Perhaps the most interesting information nugget in this interview outside the confirmation of a new franchise is that Yokohama also declared that the study will seem very committed to the Judgment series in the future. We will continue to appreciate the Judgment series, he said simply. The reason why this is intriguing is that earlier this year, the reports locked in a circle indicated that the future of Judgment as a franchise was in the air in Sega. The reason for this was due to an ongoing dispute with one of the actors associated with the series that prevented a PC version will be launched. Since SEGA could not create an iteration for PC due to this matter, the reports indicated that the publisher can choose not to continue with the franchise in its entirety. It remains to be seen if this will remain long-term.
In a general sense, what do you think about the expansion of EGG Studio to work on games outside of Yakuza and Judgment? Let me know your own reaction in the comments or send me a message on Twitter a @ mooreman12.
