Two-thirds of Germans reject the plan of FIFA President Gianni Infantino for a Football World Cup every two years and plead in return for maintaining the previous four-year rhythm.
This is the result of a representative survey of the opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of the German Press Agency. Only eleven percent of respondents spoke out for a shortening to the two-year turns.
Three percent do not want the major event in the two-four-year distance and 21 percent of respondents have no opinion on the subject.
DFB speaks against FIFA plan
The Germans follow the most of the majority of Unrestrained Hans Flick, DFB Director Oliver Bailiff and almost all other top representatives of German football attitude, which would not be desirable to shorten.
It does not make sense to further inflow everything to add new games or to redesign things, just to continue to grow or have more revenue, Bailiff said the TV channel RTL.
FIFA President Infantile would have liked to vote on his World Cup project this year. The resistance of associations and leagues from Europe and South America is too big.
The decision in the Congress of the World Association may fall on March 31, 2022, in Doha. There is also a compromise with the introduction of a global Nations League as a new competition.
