A studio or factory which is made obtainable to allcomers, maybe just in the brief term, throughout an open studio event, where artistic or creative work can be viewed as well as produced collaboratively. An open studio is intended to foster imagination and urge trial and error in an atmosphere of social exchange, conversation, inspiration, as well as freedom of speech.
Wizards of the Coast, which has now been part of Hasbro for some time, opened a new studio called New Raleigh-Durham Studio. These should focus on developing new AAA titles for the PC and consoles based on Hasbro brands.
The new studio includes veterans of the video game industry, which inter alia worked at WB Games. As already announced during Hasbros Investor Event, the Studio currently wants new games for Transformers, G.I. Joe, Micronauts, and Ouija produce. First, a 3rd person action adventure game is based on G.I. Joe developed and the studio is currently looking for numerous new employees, including Art Director, Lead Animator, Lead Game Designer, and Technical Director. According to the job advertisements, the game will use the Unreal Engine and have both a melee system and shooter mechanics.
The Wizards of the Coast Ceo Chris Cocks have recently confirmed that Hasbro is increasingly entering the gaming market and developing their games in their own home. Hasbro has a pretty large selection of very strong IPs, so it is not very surprising that the company now wants to enter the video game world. So far, there were no announcements to play more based on the brands of Wizards of the Coasts. This could be due to the failure of the recently published Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. Maybe Hasbro simply did not want to reveal her entire repertoire yet.
It will probably not last until we receive more information about the new games. On Reddit, users are especially looking forward to potential games to Power Rangers and Transformers and all in all, this looks like a welcome announcement.
