The company Investissement Québec was established in 1998 under an Act passed by the National Assembly of Quebec to favour financial investment in Quebec by Quebec-based and international firms. Its signed up workplace lies in Quebec City. In December 2010 it took control of the Société générale de financement.Investissement Québec originally held a 19% stake in the Plane A220 (formerly Bombardier CSeries) program. This was increased to 25% in February 2020, at no cash money cost to Investissement Québec, as part of a bargain that saw Bombardier offer its share to Jet.
Although recently bought by the group hugging, Gearbox does not intend to stop growing, as evidenced by the announcement of Gearbox Studio Montreal. This new studio adds to the Gearbox Studio Québec already founded in 2015 and of course the main studio always based in Texas for more than 20 years.
After having accompanied the beginnings of Gearbox Studio Québec, Sébastien Caisse and Pierre-André Déry were placed in the orders of this new team who ultimately intends to hire no less than 250 people, which will bring to 850 the total number of employees in the Gearbox family. This will invest $ 250 million in this new studio, not to mention the usual aid of generous local institutions (Montreal International and Investissement Québec).
Leaving a major success with Borderlands 3 , GearBox also just aim with the last independent game he has published, Tribes of Midgar . The studio is now at work on Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and probably on some other non-advertised projects.
